From 1989 through 1999 Sorrento played for the Minnesota Twins (1989-91) Cleveland Indians (1992-95) Seattle Mariners (1996-97) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998-99). He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. Sorrento played college baseball for the Florida State University Seminoles under head coach Mike Martin.
