John Milton Goodenow (1782-1838) was a U.S. Representative from Ohio. Born in Westmoreland New Hampshire Goodenow attended the public schools. He engaged in mercantile pursuits. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Steubenville Ohio in 1813. He was appointed collector of direct taxes and internal duties for the sixth collection district of Ohio in 1817. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1823.
